The mixing water must be pure and the mix kept as dry as possible while still being workable. Between 16g and 17g of short (25mm) dry sisal fibres are added to the mix for each kilogramme of cement. The short fibres are mixed into the dry cement and sand before adding water. Sisal fibres have a high water absorption, and some extra water may ...
The traditional method used for paving joints is a dry mix of of sand and cement mixed, 3 parts sand to 1 part cement. The method is only to be used on a dry day and the paving slabs are bone dry. If any moisture is left on the paving stones you are sure to get cement stains on your paving. Next tip the dry mix out on to your paving and sweep it into the gaps with a soft brush. Once you have ...

Method-1: DLBD method to Calculate Cement, Sand and Water required for Plaster (1:4) For calculation purposes, lets assume that the area that needs to be plastered is 100 sqft (10 ft X 10 ft wall) and a Plaster of Mix ratio 1:4 (cement:sand) is used. We shall use DLBD method (Dry Loose Bulk Density) in determining the ratios. This is the most ...

Your builder is wrong to say its fine if the mortar is crumbling away. The mix sounds ok at 4/1 if this is what he did use, the problem is either the sand is to soft, and maybe should have been sharper, or I suspect he done it during the low temperatures we had, and it has killed the mortar, which I try to avoid, or never used a wintermix/frost proofer or covered his work up at the end of the day.
Concrete is a careful combination of cement, sand and water. When it comes to the ratio, the mix is crucial to ensure the proper humidity level and moisture content for curing the cement; and if this is off or something happens during the curing process, your cement might start cracking.
Dry pack mortar is a stiff sand-cement mortar that is typically used to repair small areas that are deeper than they are wide. According to the Bureau of Reclamation's Guide to Concrete Repair, dry pack mortar contains (by dry volume or weight) one part cement, 2 1/2 parts sand, and enough water to produce a mortar that will just stick together while being molded into a ball with the hands ...

We can say among the all types of batch mixers pan type mixer are more efficient. Continuous Concrete Mixers. Continuous mixer, the name itself telling its duty that the loading, mixing and discharging of mix is continuously done until the work is complete or work break occurs. The loading of materials is done continuously by screw feeders.
Dry Deep Soil Mixing method. Dry soil mixing is a ground improvement technique that mechanically mixes the soil with dry cementitious binder to create soilcrete so as to improve the weak soils such as soft, high moisture clays, peats. A high speed drill moves into the ground with a drill rod which has radial mixing paddles near the bottom so as to construct the columns.
Shotcrete, gunite / ˈ ɡ ʌ n aɪ t / or sprayed concrete is concrete or mortar conveyed through a hose and pneumatically projected at high velocity onto a surface, as a construction technique, first used in 1914.: 7 It is typically reinforced by conventional steel rods, steel mesh, or fibers. Shotcrete is usually an all-inclusive term for both the wet-mix and dry-mix versions.
The cement and sand are then mixed together with a hoe or shovel until the cement is uniformly distributed through the sand, as shown by the even color of the mixture dry. It is important that the clay materials be very thoroughly mixed before water is added. A uniform mixture will not otherwise be obtained. When the mixing of dry materials is complete, water is acicled and the mass worked ...
